I am currently looking for new and exciting opportunities.
Please use my contact page if you are interested in working with me.
At 16 I went to college to study General Engineering, A level Maths and Physics, and a City & Guilds in CAD/CAM. After leaving college I worked in Health and Social Care with the elderly and then people with physical and learning disabilities for the local government, eventually working my way up to management.
In 2016, due to not getting the same enjoyment out of the work as I used to, I made the decision to redirect my professional life. Whilst studying I also took the time to take some short courses in some of my other interests that could potentially be useful when I qualified.
In January 2018 I achieved a IAO Level 3 Certificate in Web Design and Development and since then I have continued building upon my skillset by taking courses and looking at the code from other websites, breaking them down into the smaller problems to be figured out and understood.
I generally see all of lifes larger problems this way, just a series of little problems that each need to be solved in turn. By breaking these large problems down into smaller more manageable ones makes even seemingly insurmountable problems easier to overcome.
I have been practicing what I learnt by building websites for myself and for friends.
I am inquisitive and curious with a thirst for knowledge. As a visual learner I like to take things apart to see how they work in real time.
I am a maker; I have done this for most of my life but have recently found an online community of like-minded people from around the world that share what they are doing through social media and YouTube and spread a positive message of support and encouragement to others. Please see my maker page here for more information.
Hobbies & Interests
My hobbies and interests are varied.
I like to make, repair or upgrade things instead of buying if I can – please see my maker page for more information on this.
I enjoy many different styles of music, from heavy metal to classical, rock, blues, soul and motown, disco, 70’s and 80’s. I play the bass guitar and I dabble a little with the guitar, cello, and the keyboard.
I read when I can and usually have at least a couple of books on the go, however, I do not get a lot of time to read so I usually listen to audiobooks when I am running, working in my workshop or in my house. I also listen to and follow some podcasts.
Gaining new knowledge and skills is another favourite pastime for me, I like to do this by watching my favourite makers and content creators on YouTube. I also like to take courses and have gained certificates in subjects as diverse as plastering to astrophysics.
At the end of the day I enjoy spending a couple of hours relaxing with my girlfriend watching films or episodes from a series, we tend to enjoy science fiction or fantasy most of all but we do watch comedy and some horror too.
Some of my other hobbies and interests also include photography, videography, snorkelling, astronomy, astrophotography, and playing video games….
